My career in IT began with Infosys Technologies Limited, where I was fortunate to gain a strong foundation in Mainframe Technologies. It was an exciting and challenging phase that shaped my technical mindset and work ethic. I worked extensively with a diverse set of legacy and enterprise technologies including COBOL, CICS, AS400, IMS DB/DC, JCL, EZtrieve, DB2, and MS SQL Server.
These initial years were both demanding and rewarding. The steep learning curve of mainframe systems taught me the importance of precision, performance optimization, and structured problem-solving. Working in a fast-paced environment with mission-critical systems, I often found myself troubleshooting complex production issues and ensuring minimal downtime—an experience that sharpened my analytical and debugging skills.
One of the most challenging aspects was transitioning between various legacy systems while maintaining seamless data flow and business continuity. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and navigating client-specific business rules provided a solid grounding in enterprise-level project delivery and stakeholder communication.
These formative experiences laid the groundwork for my future endeavors in IT and instilled in me a passion for continuous learning and system-level thinking.
After a rewarding 8-year tenure at Infosys Technologies, I transitioned to Cognizant Technology Solutions to further expand my technical horizon. This move marked a significant shift in my career as I began working with modern data integration and analytics platforms. I upskilled in ETL tools like Informatica, and immersed myself in the evolving landscape of Big Data technologies, gaining hands-on experience with Hive, Impala, Unix, Python, Hadoop, Spark, and Scala.
This phase of my journey allowed me to blend traditional data processing expertise with modern data engineering practices, enabling me to contribute to more scalable, distributed, and performance-oriented solutions across diverse client engagements. Elon Musk inspires me with his relentless pursuit of innovation and his bold vision for the future. His work with companies like Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink shows what’s possible when technology, creativity, and ambition come together. I admire his ability to challenge the status quo, take calculated risks, and push boundaries in industries that most would consider too complex or too stagnant to disrupt. His mindset encourages me to stay curious, embrace change, and look for opportunities to apply cutting-edge technologies—like GenAI—in practical, transformational ways, especially in sectors like manufacturing and data engineering.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, inspires me with his confidence, resilience, and leadership presence. Regardless of one’s views, his ability to navigate high-pressure environments, make bold decisions, and communicate with conviction demonstrates the importance of self-belief and taking ownership of one’s direction. His journey reminds me that strong leadership often involves taking unpopular stands, being decisive, and staying committed to one’s vision despite challenges.

“Over the course of my career, I’ve encountered several challenges that have shaped my growth both technically and professionally. One of the most significant obstacles was during my transition from Mainframe technologies to modern data engineering and Big Data platforms. “Adapting to a completely new ecosystem involving Hadoop, Spark, Python, and Scala, while maintaining delivery timelines and client expectations, was both intense and rewarding,” I recall. It required a strong commitment to upskilling, hands-on experimentation, and quickly unlearning legacy methods to embrace scalable, cloud-based data solutions.
Another major challenge I faced was leading large-scale data migration and transformation projects. These projects required integrating legacy systems with modern ETL pipelines and real-time analytics frameworks. “These projects often involved complex dependencies, tight deadlines, and cross-functional teams spread across time zones,” I reflect. Ensuring seamless delivery, maintaining data integrity, and managing stakeholder expectations under such pressure taught me valuable lessons in leadership, communication, and agile delivery.
Most recently, working on GenAI-related use cases in the manufacturing sector posed new challenges—particularly around integrating generative models with traditional manufacturing data, ensuring security, and managing resistance to change. However, it has also opened up new avenues for innovation and efficiency, reinforcing the importance of staying ahead of the curve.
